EHang 1000 Drone Light Show Sets World Record

'Meteor Sky' Performed At the Canton Tower

In a spectacular display, EHang performed a 1000 UAV formation light show named Meteor Sky at the Guangzhou city center in the sky over the famous Canton Tower at the night of February 11. The display was a celebration of the Chinese traditional Lantern Festival through the art of innovative technology, and bested the world record UAV formation set by Intel’s 500 drone show in Germany in 2016.

At 9 p.m., a thousand EHang GHSOTDRONE 2.0 UAVs were neatly arranged on the Walk of Fame at the Guangzhou Haixinsha Square, shining festive colored lights like a mighty, 1,000-foot dragon getting ready to fly. When the countdown clock reached "0", the UAVs took off gradually and ascended 100 meters into the night sky.

The sky then became the canvas for the aircraft to freely form their masterpieces. The audience was amazed, and applauded to the constantly changing formations ranging from neon rainbows, picturesque forms of Chinese idioms and blessings, calligraphies, and the map of China. The performance concluded perfectly with the aircraft forming "1000" and EHang’s logo, marking the new world record of the largest number of UAVs in an outdoor formation.

Throughout the show, musicians from the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra performed wonderful musical pieces. The sky formation show was accompanied by the swift melody from the renowned symphony originating from China The Yellow River, combining magnificent charm and innovative technology to create art that amazed all the spectators.
