Three Ground Workers Hurt
Just hours before
President Bush was to leave Ataturk, Turkey Tuesday, a small
package exploded on board a Turkish Airlines aircraft, injuring
three members of the cleaning crew.
"After the passengers got off, the cleaners entered the
aircraft. Then a booby-trapped parcel, resembling a wallet went
off," said Turkish Airlines spokesman Recep Guvelioglu.
The worker who handled the package lost several fingers in the
explosion, authorities said. The aircraft had just arrived in
Istanbul from the city of Izmir in western Turkey.
