The third aircraft in the Cessna Citation Longitude flight test program recently completed its first flight. Test pilots Corey Eckhart and UJ Pesonen, along with flight test engineer Mike Bradfield, successfully tested various systems throughout the one-hour and 40-minute flight. The new rules apply to aircraft weighing between about half a pound and 77 pounds being flown non-commercially. Under the rules, recreational drones may not be flown higher than 90 meters above the ground; closer than 75 meters from buildings, vehicles, vessels, animals, people/crowds; and closer than 9 kilometers from the center of any "aerodrome"... defined as anywhere that aircraft take off and land. The rules also prohibit flight in controlled or restricted airspace, within about 5.6 miles
