Search Continues For Missing Plane In AK

They're not giving up in Alaska. The search continues for a twin turboprop, thought to be an Aero-Commander, missing since Friday.

The Anchorage Daily News reports the aircraft had flown several times between Kenai and Anchorage when it disappeared with three people on board.

The Civil Air Patrol has four aircraft up and involved in the search effort... state troopers are on the job as well.

Major Mark Haller, who speaks for the Rescue Coordination Center in Anchorage, says this is still a rescue mission.

"We've had people find their way out of circumstances or find a way back," Haller said. "We're going to keep searching."

So far, there's been no sign of the aircraft on either land or water... but like Haller said, crews aren't giving up hope just yet.
