FreeFlight's GPS/WAAS Sensors To Be Offered On Crossbow's AHRS Systems

Companies Announce Deal At AEA 2006

At the Aircraft Electronics Association Convention in Palm Springs, CA Crossbow Technology and FreeFlight Systems announced Thursday a long-term licensing agreement that allows Crossbow to manufacture and market FreeFlight GPS/WAAS sensors bundled with Crossbow AHRS systems.

Representatives with Crossbow tell ANN the licensing agreement provides Crossbow with a path to develop a fully integrated FAA Certified GPS/AHRS solution in the near future. The new relationship between Crossbow and FreeFlight also offers substantial benefit to General Aviation customers who currently use these two key navigation technologies.

Both companies currently manufacture navigation systems which have been TSO’d by the FAA and proven in the certified aircraft marketplace.

Founded in 1995, Crossbow Technology, Inc. is the leading supplier of inertial sensor systems for aviation, land and marine applications. Crossbow is also the leading supplier of end-to-end solutions in wireless sensor networks and the largest manufacturer of wireless sensor networks.

Based in Waco, TX, FreeFlight Systems develops, manufactures and sells a range of TSO’d  GPS/WAAS products. Its flagship product, the 2101 series of GPS navigation systems acquired from Trimble Navigation’s former Business & Commuter Aircraft business unit, is popular with aircraft users worldwide.
