Five Receive Master Instructor Designation In April

National Accreditation Recognized By The FAA

Four instructors have renewed their Master Instructor designation in the month of April, while one received the designation for the first time.

Master Instructors LLC said in a news release that all were accredited as Masters by Master Instructors LLC, the international Master Instructor accrediting authority. All obtained their designation through the Master Instructor "Fluid Review" program online.

Professional aviation educators who earned or renewed their "Master" title during April 2017 are:

Randall Loren "Randy" Brooks, Hurst, TX
Master CFI-Aerobatic 
Randall L Brooks, a 2-time Master as well as a member of SAFE and IAC, recently earned his Master CFI-Aerobatic accreditation. A 13-year member of the aerobatic Red Baron Squadron, Randy is now the vice president of training and business development with Aviation Performance Solutions LLC at Arlington Municipal Airport (GKY) in Texas.  He specializes in stall / spin as well as upset prevention / recovery training and formation aerobatics training. Timothy John "Tim" Carter, Trophy Club  TX
Master CFI-Aerobatic   
Timothy J Carter, a 2-time Master as well as a member of SAFE and IAC, recently renewed his Master CFI-Aerobatic accreditation. Tim teaches aerobatics, upset prevention and upset recovery with Aviation Performance Solutions LLC at Arlington Municipal Airport (GKY) and is a former US Air Force instructor pilot.  Additionally, he serves as an IAC national aerobatic judge while also mentoring other judges and judge candidates. Kent Christopher "Chris" Fitch, Daleville, AL
Master CFI  
Kent "Chris" Fitch, recently earned his first Master CFI (MCFI) accreditation. A veteran United States Marine Corps helicopter maintenance technician and SAFE member, Chris is currently serving as a US Army warrant officer helicopter pilot at Fort Rucker near Enterprise, Alabama.  Additionally, he provides civilian fixed wing flight and ground training at Enterprise Municipal Airport (EDN). Thomas Michael "Mike" Garrison, Port Saint Lucie, FL
Master CFI 
T Michael Garrison, an 8-time Master and charter SAFE member, recently renewed his Master CFI accreditation.  Mike holds the coveted FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award while also serving as a designated pilot examiner (DPE) and FAASTeam representative in the FAA's Orlando FSDO area.  A US Navy veteran and professional engineer, Mike is an independent flight instructor specializing in instrument, multiengine and Cirrus training (CSIP) at Saint Lucie County International Airport (FPR). Karl Schlimm

Master CFI-Aerobatic
Karl A Schlimm, a 3-time Master and a member of IAC as well as SAFE, recently renewed his Master CFI-Aerobatic accreditation.  Karl is a Part 141 chief instructor and Director of Operations with Aviation Performance Solutions LLC at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA).  A US Air Force veteran and F-16 Fighting Falcon instructor pilot, he specializes in upset recovery, spin, and aerobatic training. Many of the most recent National Flight Instructors of the Year or National FAASTeam Representatives of the Year were Master CFIs. In addition, the FAA has approved the accreditation as an alternate means for CFIs to renew their flight instructor certificates.
