Jet-Alliance To Add Second Eclipse 500 To Fleet

Shared Ownership Program Expects S/N 84 By End Of Month

California-based jet ownership company Jet-Alliance tells ANN it is scheduled to take delivery of a second Eclipse 500 jet this month. The aircraft, serial #84, will fly in conjunction with the very first Eclipse 500 delivered.

As ANN reported, Jet-Alliance took delivery of the world's first production very light jet (shown above) at the end of last year... and co-owner Randall Sanada, chairman of Jet-Alliance, says the plane has lived up to its efficiency goals. "Instead of VLJ, perhaps it should be known as V-E-J for very efficient jet," he said.

The company says its Eclipse 500 burns less than 70 gallons an hour, with low aircraft noise and low engine smoke emissions to boot. "Air and noise pollution concerns hit especially close to home for airport communities and frequent air travelers ... the Eclipse 500 [is designed] to be a great neighbor in every sense," said Eclipse Aviation CEO Vern Raburn.

In a move intended to further "green" its fleet, Jet-Alliance is working with carbon-offset provider TerraPass to offer owners of Jet-Alliance aircraft the option to offset their carbon footprint for each trip.

Founded in 2000, Jet-Alliance offers 1/4 shares in the Eclipse 500 for as low as $450,000.
