Cost-Effective OSH2015 Sponsor: Sandia Aerospace

OSH2015 Sponsor: Sandia Aerospace

Located in the high desert of Albuquerque, New Mexico, SANDIA Aerospace was founded in 1997 by a group of avionics professionals to provide high quality avionics products to General, Corporate and Regional airline markets.

Major product offerings include the company's STX 165 Transponder with Built-in Encoder, the SAI-340 Quatro, the STX 360 Sentinel, SAE 5-35 Altitude Encoder, SAC 7-35 Airdata Computer, Avionics Cooling Fans, and MARC 70 interface modules. SANDIA products are offered worldwide by both avionics modification centers and aircraft manufacturers.

Introducing... The SAI-340 Quatro!!!

Safety Never Looked So Good! The SAI 340 Quatro is Four-In-One standby instrument that gives you precision Airspeed, Attitude, Altitude and Slip indications, all in an easy to read EFIS presentation. The Quatro can serve as a cost effective replacement for steam-gauge standby instruments in retrofit EFIS equipped aircraft, providing for a more consistent user interface during emergency operations. It can also be an excellent safety enhancing addition to your traditional six pack panel.

With its built-in battery, the SAI 340 Quatro provides up to 2 hours of stand alone operation, ensuring an unprecedented level of redundancy. Yet it weighs in at a scant 1/2 pounds - less than a typical airspeed indicator.

The fully TSO’d display fits directly into a standard round 3” instrument hole with no panel modification, making it a near drop-in installation. Stunning air-transport quality graphics provide amazingly smooth, fluid motion, making the SAI 340 an investment to be proud of - and at a price that won’t break the bank.

  • TSO’d Airspeed, Attitude, Altitude and Slip
  • Full Solid State Reliability
  • Integral Backup Battery
  • Air-Transport Quality Graphics
  • Standard 3” Instrument Hole Mounting

Sandia 's STX 360 Sentinel

The Sentinel is a panel-mounted UAT ADS-B with built-in Mode C transponder. Sandia designed it to be easily installed in the same space as an existing transponder thus saving on installation costs.

The STX 360 has an internal diplexer that requires just a single antenna, further reducing installation costs and complexity. Because the STX 360 is a combination unit, a single point of entry for the squawk code eliminates the possibility of reporting two separate codes. The STX 360 Sentinel provides a display of traffic and METARS on its sunlight readable OLED display. With its wireless output capability, the STX 360 can also display weather and traffic on portable devices such as iPads. In addition, Sandia Aerospace announced the STX 180, a remote version of the Sentinel. The STX 180 uses the same UAT and Mode C transponder which can be controlled by Sandia ½ 3ATI control head or by using various manufacturers’ EFIS systems. The STX 360 Sentinel will be available in 2016 at a price below $3500. The STX 180 will be available in 2016 at a price under $3500.
