Life Flight Network To Expand Fleet

Orders Eleven Additional AgustaWestland Helicopters

AgustaWestland has entered into an agreement with Life Flight Network, the United States’ largest not-for-profit air ambulance provider, for up to ten additional aircraft. The agreement includes four firm orders and two options for AW119Kx EMS-configured helicopters and preliminary agreements for up to five AW109 Trekkers.

Full execution and delivery will bring the total number of helicopters operated by Life Flight Network to 28, reinforcing the critical care transportation company’s confidence in the AgustaWestland product range and the capabilities of the AW119Kx and AW109 Trekker.

Integrating the Garmin G1000HTM flight deck system into the proven AW119 platform, certifying the new avionics suite, and delivering the next-generation helicopter to customers in the United States, Brazil, Chile, Australia, and China over the course of two years was a testament to the success of the AgustaWestland design engineering and production teams and has contributed to the strength of the aircraft across all market segments.

The achievements by AgustaWestland and timely deliveries of the AW119Kx have allowed the aircraft to amass over 10,000 flight hours across the three North American EMS programs that operate fleets of AW119Kx helicopters since the aircraft was introduced into service in 2013. Over 250 AW119 helicopters have been ordered to date in more than 30 countries by over 100 customers.

The AW109 Trekker is the latest addition to AgustaWestland’s portfolio of light twin-engine helicopters, and the first light twin-engine to offer skid landing gear.

AgustaWestland targets both the AW119Kx and the Trekker at entities flying EMS, VIP/corporate transport, utility, fire-fighting, law enforcement, and government missions.
