JetBlue Appoints Jim Sullivan To Vice President, Flight Operations

Thirty-Year Aviation Veteran Began At Frontier Airlines

JetBlue Airways has appointed Jim Sullivan as the carrier’s Vice President, Flight Operations. Sullivan is responsible for the award-winning airline’s flight operations and flight standards. He will report directly to Warren Christie, the airline’s Senior Vice President, Safety, Security & Air Operations and will be based at JetBlue’s main support center in Long Island City, NY.

Sullivan (pictured) began his aviation career nearly 30 years ago, with the majority of that time spent at Frontier Airlines. In 2015, he joined Surf Air, becoming a member of the senior team at the California-based commuter airline. In his most recent position, he was Chief Operating Officer at Great Lakes Aviation. An experienced airline captain, he is type rated on the B737, A320, LR-JET and the CE-500.

“Jim’s broad industry experience, array of senior leadership roles, and commitment to servant leadership is an impressive combination,” said Christie. “I’m confident that he will lead with JetBlue’s values in mind, with a focus on strengthening and growing the flight operations team and guiding us to the next chapter in JetBlue’s growth.”

“I am excited for the opportunity to join this much admired airline,” said Sullivan. “I am looking forward to working alongside JetBlue’s pilots and contributing to the airline’s continued success.”
