Aero-TV At SnF2022: VirtualFly Showcases Its Simulators & Accessories

VirtualFly Targets Enthusiasts & Flight Schools with Cessna & Diamond Simulators

VirtualFly North America is a flight simulation manufacturer and a resurgent development center that creates everything from a yoke and throttle quadrant for home simulation enthusiasts up to replicas of aircraft. Basic Aviation Training Devices (BATD) and Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATD) certified simulators, Cessna (172) replicas, and Caravans. We now have Diamond DA40s with Middle Tennessee State University, and simulators at universities like Hawaii, Cyprus University (in Los Angeles, California) so they're getting there.

Oscar Mateos, Marketing Manager for VirtualFly, North American stated that their primary goal is Technical Support. They are painfully aware that a simulator down at a flight school translates to no revenue, so they have a strong team of technical support personnel which is with the institution all year long. Mr. Mateos believes that their use of high-end quality components, a good price point, and the technical support is what distinguishes them from competitors. He further added that they “just try to do a very good job.”

VirtualFly is excited to have flight schools use them for flight instruction, to try out the simulators and see what they think.  AeroNews noted that two factors that have greatly influenced the flight training market and especially simulator market, is firstly the "incredible capabilities and displays that are available now” and secondly “the fact that we can now build reasonably cost-effective motion bases.”  Mr. Mateos agreed, “starting from what you said in terms of visuals there’s several softwares out there Microsoft Flight Simulator of course, X-Plane, Prepar3D by Lockheed Martin, we are compatible with all of them, especially for the flight controls and small flight panels.

Then there’s the certified flight simulators that don’t have very many close requirements, so they need to work with X-Plane or Prepar3D. Mr. Mateos stated that having so many softwares to choose from makes for a “super exciting enthusiast or the flight school…they have very nice visuals and very nice scenery.” Furthermore, flight dynamics are getting better so the VirtualFly company, a manufacturer with a and research and development department, working with all these companies together day by day is creating some important and exciting experiences for students and young kids. They [Enthusiasts and Students] are learning fundamentals of aerodynamics and that’s very exciting in terms of platforms. VirtualFly has, for example, a full motion platform that uses an electrical platform which is very cost effective to operate, and hence a good thing for flight schools and universities out there! Go take a peek at the product lineup online and have your currency conversion calculator handy while shopping as all pricing is currently in Euros!
