Piedmont Aviation Component Services Moving To New Facility

Leasing An 80,000 Square Foot Building In Greensboro, NC

Landing gear manufacturer Piedmont Aviation Component Services plans to move about 80 employees from Smith Reynolds Airport in Winston-Salem, NC to a much larger facility in Greensboro, NC.

Company president Todd Schwarzt told the Triad Business Journal that the company has been working on improvements to a leased 80,000 square foot space in Greensboro. The new facility, which is more than twice the size of its current operation, will accommodate growth in the company's landing gear, machining, and electroplating services.

The company maintains APRs for Boeing 737s and CRJ-200 jets, and performs landing gear maintenance and overhauls on regional jets. Schwartz said that the company would immediately use 60,000 square feet of the new space, leaving about 20,000 for future growth.

The company has hired "quite a few" employees over the past 18 months, he said.

The company is a subsidiary of TAT Technologies based in Israel, and is an FAA-certified repair station.
