New Terminal Under Construction At Houston Executive Airport

Will House Henriksen Jet Center FBO

In a nod to robust growth of general aviation in Texas, Houston Executive Airport officials announced the construction of an FBO Terminal Building. The 22,500-square-foot FBO terminal building and arrival canopy are among recent upgrades to the airport located along Houston’s energy corridor in west Houston. Increased traffic and high demand for additional hangar lease space prompted the airport to build two hangers in the last eight months bringing the airport’s hangar space to over 122,000 square feet. The terminal building is expected to open in February 2013.

The construction follows steady growth at the airport founded in 2007 by Houston businessman Ron Henriksen. A former commercial pilot, Henriksen is an aviation trailblazer, privately funding both Houston Executive Airport and Austin Executive Airport which opened in 2011.

“General aviation continues to be strong throughout our state, and especially in Houston,” said Henriksen. “We remain extremely optimistic about private business travel in the years to come and we want to be top of mind to any aircraft owner or pilot seeking the best service and amenities in the Houston area.”

Andrew Perry, A.A.E, Executive Director for Houston Executive Airport and Austin Executive Airport said the growth of general aviation is a good barometer of a healthy economic forecast. “Since we opened five years ago, Houston Executive Airport has been a leader in general aviation in our city and state,” said Perry. “We’re answering the call to continue to make a significant impact on creating jobs, providing outstanding service and presenting a much-needed alternative to corporate and business executives who understand the time savings of flying privately.”

“The Henriksen Jet Center at Houston Executive Airport is located adjacent to I-10 in West Houston’s thriving energy corridor,” he added. “The terminal building and arrival canopy will be among the premier FBO’s in the country, serving one of the fastest-growing cities in the nation.”
