Banyan Avionics Continues Expansion Of Its High Speed Data/Wi-Fi Program

Completes First Installation On B757 VIP Airplane

Banyan’s avionics department recently completed a High Speed Data/ WI-FI installation on a Boeing B757 VIP aircraft. The installation was performed by the Banyan Avionics travel team at the customers MRO of choice during a maintenance inspection. The travel team has now performed HSD/Wi-Fi installations on the B727/737/747SP/757 airframes.

In addition, Banyan recently secured a contract to outfit three Boeing 737 aircraft with the Aircell ATG-5000 High Speed Internet solution. The installation will be performed under a Banyan STC and have WI-FI connectivity. Banyan can provide a cost effective solution for almost any airframe and can perform the work at their facility in Fort Lauderdale or at a customer specified location.

Earlier this year, Banyan obtained STC certifications on Gulfstream models GII/GIII/GIV/ and GV aircraft for the Honeywell Aspire 200LG and eNfusion products. This accompanies Banyan’s STC for the Thrane and Thrane Aviator 200 for the Citation series of aircraft. Banyan is currently in talks with a vendor for their next STC which will be announced by the end of the year.

“High Speed Data/ WI-FI is what the business traveler desires and is what passengers demand. For those companies in the charter business, we have heard companies are losing revenue because their fleets do not provide connectivity. They have it in the workplace, in their homes, so why not have it when on board their aircraft,” says Brian Wilson, Banyan’s director of avionics. “Since downtime is critical and movement of an aircraft like a Boeing or other larger corporate jet is expensive, the customer was pleased with the flexibility Banyan Avionics offered by doing the work on the road.”

“We are very pleased with the features and simple operation of the Honeywell Aspire 200 LG system that was installed on our corporate Gulfstream aircraft,” states Mr. Molles, owner and launch customer. “The ability to simultaneously make a voice call, check email and browse the Internet makes the flight more productive. The Avionics team from Banyan Air Service provided great support from start to finish.”

Banyan’s avionics department has dedicated hangar space, a structural team, and technicians available for comprehensive avionics installations, repairs, and modifications. Banyan is recognized for top regional sales for Rockwell Collins, has earned FAA Diamond Awards, and is an authorized dealer for all major avionics manufacturers. Banyan is certified as both an FAA and EASA repair station and has also earned repair station designations for Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela.

Banyan also has a couple of giveaways going of for people visiting their booth. Prizes include a Martin–Young custom framed giclee “Mustang Dreams” (pictured below); 45” X 32” signed and hand-embellished by the artists. The company is also participating in Avfuel’s promotion for the chance to win a grand prize trip to your choice of three destinations:  China, Switzerland or Brazil (coinciding with ABACE, EBACE or LABACE).
