Crash Scene Spooks Los Angeles Residents, Police

But It's All In... Fun?

Halloween is approaching... but we frankly can't imagine what drove a 25-year-old Los Angeles resident to recreate a plane crash in his front lawn, in the place of a carved-out jack-o-lantern. The fact that beer was involved does seem to fit, however.

Steve Chambers works for an aviation company... and that, along with his fascination with the television series "Lost," compelled the man to recreate a crash scene inspired by the show.

Oh, and beer... the Associated Press reports Chambers did imbibe a six-pack or two over the days-long endeavour.

"Every year for the last 10 years, we have always done something for Halloween," said Chambers. "I thought this would be scary. I have dead bodies. I'll have strobe lights. So far, I've had a lot of people saying it's good."

"Only one person, out of everybody, drove by and flipped us off."

The scene is so realistic, police have been called out to investigate.

"It really caught my eye and I thought maybe a plane had crashed," Officer Greg Andrachick told England's Metro newsmagazine.

Most of the parts are from a Gulfstream III... but next year, Chambers hopes to be using parts from a Boeing 747.

To each their own...
