General Contractor: Walz Harman Huffman Construction, Inc., based in Kechi, KS

Location: Cessna's Independence facility sits on a 213-acre site. Current structures on the property include separate assembly, paint and delivery facilities that total nearly 400,000 square feet. Independence, Kansas, is located approximately 125 miles southeast of Wichita in Montgomery County.

Visitors to Independence: Once complete, Cessna anticipates it will deliver between 600-1,000 aircraft from this facility each year. Typically, a minimum of two customers are involved in the delivery process, which means Cessna's Independence facility could host over 1,000 customers every year.

Employment/Jobs:  Today, Cessna employs approximately 10,500 worldwide. Of these, approximately 625 are in Independence (approximately 500 production and approximately 125 support staff).

Approximately 500 additional jobs will be added to the Independence workforce over the next several years.

At its peak construction phases, approximately 300 construction workers will be on site. The majority of these will be from one of the 15 southeast Kansas subcontractors Cessna has retained for service.

• Cessna has paid Independence employees over $171 million in salaries
• Cessna has paid for over $1.2 million in tuition aid for Independence employees
• Cessna's Independence facility has delivered over 5,400 aircraft to customers from 53 different countries.
