Adam Aircraft's A500 to Fly Next Week

First Flight, if the Weather's Right

ANN Sponsor Adam Aircraft plans to fly the conforming prototype, Number One, to Oshkosh next month. Between now and then, there's a lot to be done. First things first: first flight.

We found out that plans for the first flight are on schedule, and that, if all the cosmic verities that must align, do align, the blessed event will take place "sometime next week."

The centerline-thrust, 6-place twin has garnered a lot of interest, and quite a few orders, since its first introduction as the "M-309." A year or so ago, a contest-winner named it its official name, "Carbon Aero;" friends and family are now calling it simply, the "A500."

Whatever it's called, it's going to turn a lot of heads at Oshkosh, as its improvements, made in development, become obvious. Without giving too much away, there are significant dimensional changes from the original proof-of-concept machine (more on those soon); and the interior, premiered at Sun 'n Fun, is a knockout ("CarbonAero Cabin-Class").
