Both Crew Members Killed
An American-made F-14
fighter crashed in Iran Monday while on approach to an airbase near
the city of Isfahan, according to state-run television reports.
Both crew members on board were killed.
Iranian air force officials were investigating the crash. There
was no immediate indication of the cause.
Iran's main battle fleet was American-made before the 1978
Islamic revolution. The US has since banned arms sales to Iran,
which has, in turn, tapped Russia as a supplier.
