Nextant Appoints Piedmont Aircraft As Exclusive Sales Agent

Piedmont Aircraft Takes Responsibility For Sales In The Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region

Nextant Aerospace has announced the appointment of Piedmont Aircraft Company (“Piedmont”) as the exclusive sales agent for the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic US. Its territory will span from South Carolina to Maine including some of the country’s largest financial, commercial and governmental centers.

With a lineage dating back to 1940, Piedmont has built a reputation for providing informed and unbiased expertise for business aviation customers. Its sales and marketing team has sold over 4,000 aircraft, many of which were the base product for Nextant aircraft. Piedmont was the largest Beechcraft dealer in the world from 1994 through 2008 when Beechcraft made the decision to sell factory direct. In the last 10 years, the company has sold over 250 light jets and turboprops, developing deep relationships with the region’s customer base.

“We are proud to welcome Tom Mekis and his team at Piedmont Aircraft as part of our global sales team,” said Jay Heublein, Nextant Executive Vice President for Global Sales and Marketing. “Their experience selling our predecessor products and customer relationships in the region are unsurpassed. That’s the reason that 70% of their sales are repeat business.”

The Nextant 400XTi’s nearly 2,000 nm range easily connects New York to Palm Beach with six adult passengers at 460 kts. The aircraft can fly from Aspen to New York, every day of the year. The flat floor and “squared oval” cabin are complemented by an acoustic insulation package that lowers ambient noise by 9 dB – nearly 50%. Coupled with state-of-the-art data communications systems, the 400XTi is an elegant statement of comfort and productivity.

The Nextant G90XT has a range of 1,240 nm at the swift speed of 273 kts. From Washington, DC, the aircraft can fly non-stop to destinations including Cedar Rapids, Shreveport and Nassau with four passengers. Like the 400XTi, the Nextant G90XT also features the latest in cabin comfort and productivity solutions.

“Executive aviation is in our DNA. Our experience over the last 40 years gives us unique insights into the needs and decision factors of current and prospective aircraft owners,” said Tom Mekis, Piedmont Aircraft President and CEO. “Corporations and entrepreneurs today are seeing revenues rise but are aggressively seeking opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing performance. This is exactly what Nextant offers and why we are so excited to be part of the Nextant team.”

Nextant said in Orlando that the G90XT is on schedule to begin customer deliveries in the first quarter of 2015. The aircraft will make its maiden flight early next month.
