Delta Airlines has joined America and United in tacking a $10
holiday travel surcharge on to tickets purchased for travel on
November 29th, and January 2nd and 3rd. Those dates normally see a
large surge in the number of travelers returning from holiday
American led the charge on charges, adding the surcharge on
Wednesday. United matched the move Thursday, and Delta followed
suit over the weekend.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the surcharges
must be included in the base price airlines advertise for online
ticket purchases. AirTran announced over the weekend it would not
be matching the surcharges for holiday travel.
