Robinson Adds Spidertracks Real Time Flight Tracking

Web-Based Aircraft Tracking To Be Offered For All Models

Spidertracks has made an agreement with Robinson Helicopter Company to include the Spider S5 as the helicopter manufacturer's real-time flight tracking offering in their options catalog for the R22, R44 and R66 models.

According to Spidertracks' CEO James McCarthy, all aircraft will be pre-wired with a Spider power cord and a mounting bracket will be installed at the most effective location on top of the instrument cluster offering clear view to the sky for optimal connectivity to GPS and Iridium satellites.

"We think the Spidertracks system offers an excellent overall value and believe that satellite-based position tracking provides significant safety benefits over ELTs," Kurt Robinson, President of Robinson Helicopters, said in a news release.

Based in New Zealand, Spidertracks tracks aircraft in real time using spiders to send aircraft location to a web application. The company is an Iridium Value Added Reseller. The portable, reliable and cost-effective Spider units have been sold to clients in more than 80 countries, providing accurate flight tracking globally.
