Note Found Inside Magazine
Police are still searching for the writer of a note found
onboard a Chautauqua Airlines regional jet earlier this
week, claiming there was a bomb on the plane.
The Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette reports 25 passengers and three
crewmembers were pulled off the flight bound for Cincinnati Monday
afternoon, after one of the passengers found the handwritten note
inside a magazine.
The plane was rolling to the runway at Fort Wayne International
when the passenger, believed to be seated in row 12, alerted
crewmembers to the note.
All persons onboard the Embraer 135 were taken to the terminal
and held in a boardroom as Fort Wayne police, assisted by a
bomb-sniffing dog and a robot, searched the aircraft.
One of the passengers, Lynnette Whitaker, said they waited for
several hours before FBI began interviews. The passengers were
allowed to leave the airport at approximately 6 pm, after being

and we’d rather err on the side of caution," said FBI special
