FAA Places TFR Over Trump Tower In Manhattan

Gov. Mike Pence's Residence In Indianapolis Is Also A No-Fly Zone

From now through January 21, pilots are not allowed to fly over Trump Tower in Manhattan or the residence of Governor Mike Pence in Indianapolis, IN.

The FAA put TFRs in place over the two locations to facilitate "VIP movement" for the President and Vice President-elect. The TRFs expire the day after the two are sworn into office in January.

As they always say in such cases, violations of the restricted airspace could result in the use of "deadly military force," according to the agency.

But they are not the kind of 30-mile rings that are often associated with Presidential TFRs. The Manhattan TFR covers airspace from the ground to 3,000 feet, while the Indianapolis restriction includes airspace up to 1,500 feet.

Both prohibit drone flights near the two residences.
