Alteon Training will work with 787
launch customer ANA (All Nippon Airways) to establish a Tokyo
Training Center as part of the Alteon global training support
network for the new Dreamliner. Alteon will place a full suite of
787 training tools at ANA's Haneda training center, which will be
ready for 787 training by first quarter 2008. Training tools for
the 787 will include a full flight simulator, flat-panel simulator,
desktop simulation systems, courseware and instructors.
"Boeing's relationship with ANA spans many years and promises an
exciting future with ANA's launch of the 787," said Lou Mancini,
vice president and general manager, Boeing Commercial Aviation
Services. "Working together with ANA to provide 787 training
demonstrates how a premier airline and a market-leading aircraft
manufacturer can add value for each other and the marketplace."
The cooperative training solution in Japan is the first 787
training center to be announced by Alteon. The location will
primarily serve ANA, but will be available to all 787
operators.
"We are privileged to be partnered with ANA, one of the world's
leading airlines, in launching our 787 training solution," said
Alteon President Pat Gaines. Placing 787 training capability in
Tokyo supports ANA, increasing its training capability without a
large capital outlay, and provides other 787 operators in the
region with the opportunity to train closer to their home
base."
ANA serves 46 destinations throughout Japan, and flies to 22
cities throughout Asia, Europe, and North America, including the
Pacific resorts of Hawaii and Guam. One of the 10 largest passenger
carriers in the world, it has a history spanning more than 50 years
and a reputation for hospitable service and innovative products.
ANA became a member of Star Alliance, the world's largest airline
alliance, in 1999, and in 2004 made history as the launch customer
of the Boeing 787.
