Hawker Beechcraft Unveils King Air C90GTi

"Baby" King Air Now Sports Pro Line 21 Cockpit

Hawker Beechcraft Corporation announced this week the new Beechcraft King Air C90GTi, the latest evolution of the popular twin-turbine Beechcraft King Air 90 series aircraft. The upgraded Beechcraft King Air C90GTi will feature a fully-integrated, Pro Line 21 avionics system, the same system at the heart of Hawker and Beechcraft airplanes from the King Air B200 to the Hawker 900XP.

Representatives with Hawker Beechcraft state this upgrade creates the lowest priced, twin-turbine aircraft with mid-size jet avionics. It will replace the current King Air C90GT, introduced in 2005.

"We're excited to announce the first new aircraft by Hawker Beechcraft Corporation," said Brad Hatt, president, Commercial Aircraft. "The new King Air C90GTi is a logical step in creating a common avionics package across the King Air line and continuing on up into the Hawkers. In conjunction with the airplane's Pratt and Whitney PT6A-135 engines, the C90GTi will deliver its passengers in a nearly 50 percent larger cabin and within minutes of even the closest competitive very light jet."

Certification and deliveries of the King Air C90GTi are on track for the fourth quarter of 2007. Pursuit of international certifications will immediately follow with EASA, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Venezuela and Guatemala expected by the end of the year.

The Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 system includes large-format liquid crystal displays in a three-display arrangement, as well as digital radio and audio systems. It features advanced capabilities not found in other, entry-level turbine avionics systems to include a multi-sensor flight management system that utilizes several aircraft position inputs, solid state weather radar and Collins patented Chart Link automated chart selection system, to reduce pilot workload.

Other features include advanced digital processing, analysis and display of flight-critical information enhance mission safety and aircraft reliability. Pro Line 21's total system integration allows electronic monitoring and analysis of all on-board systems. It delivers unmatched situational awareness by making retrieval and analysis of flight-critical information as intuitive as possible. Advanced digital capabilities in collecting, processing and displaying communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS) data keep pilots wired into a network of ever-changing information.

The flight deck incorporates Rockwell Collins Integrated Flight Information Systems (IFIS) offering pilots a wide range of safety and situational enhancing information to include map overlays (airways, airspace, geopolitical) as standard features. In addition to these standard features, options include: Electronic Jeppessen charts, XM Graphical Weather (US), Universal Graphical Weather (International), and Integrated Rockwell Collins HF System.

The Beechcraft King Air C90GTi seats up to seven passengers in a roomy, squared-oval cabin designed to allow greater passenger headroom. It also features a heated and pressurized baggage storage area that is accessible during flight and a fully enclosed aft private lavatory. The rugged, performance-orientated C90GTi also provides operators with the versatility to land on short runways or unimproved strips, where most jets are unable to land.
