Aero-TV: Piece By Piece – TAF Sling 4 Kit-Build Options

One Of The Most Impressive SportPlanes We've Flown, The Bird Also Looks Quite Buildable

The Sling line of two-place and four-place kit-built airplanes are produced by a South African company simply known as, The Aircraft Factory (TAF). They are now heavily invested in the United States and have now established a builder assistance program.

ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, stopped by the TAF Torrance, California headquarters and asked about their rapid build program. Jim met with Matt Liknaitzky, the president of MGL Avionics USA, and he heads up the U.S. distribution of Sling Aircraft for TAF.

Liknaitzky said that TAF has joined forces with Synergy Air, located in Eugene, Oregon to provide builders with professional help and the high probability that their aircraft will go from kit form to taxi in about two weeks. Synergy Air has a well-established reputation for helping builders accelerate the process of completing their aircraft while still remaining in compliance with the amateur built rules.

Jim also talks about what the quick-build kit is composed of in case you are not involved in the fast build program. You’ll see in the video that the quick build kit gives you a good head start even if you are not using the builder assist program.

As the video progresses you’ll learn about how the factory assistance program works, and you’ll gain some insight about pricing. There’s lots of good information here.
