Also: Hartzell's Voyager, Tu-95 Bombers Bombed, Possible FAA Admin Under Cloud, Swiss Air-Rescue

A Delta Pilot contract draft has begun floating about, with details pointing the way on an eventual vote. Bell Textron has been selected for the Army’s Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program. The deal will see the company build on their prior work from the Joint Multi-Role Technology Demonstrator (JMR TD) program, using the matured tiltrotor design as a base for what might eventually replace the Black Hawk helicopter in service. Spectacle Sans Substance

On 02 December 2022, the United States Air Force rolled out its new, long-range, intercontinental, stealth, strategic bomber during a nighttime ceremony contrived to obfuscate details of the aircraft’s design and capabilities. The event, which coincided serendipitously with a new report on Chinese military capabilities, provided a dramatic backdrop against which senior Pentagon officials proclaimed the new bomber—Northrop Grumman’s B-21—the cornerstone of American deterrence capability for decades to come.

Airborne-UnCrewed 11.29.22: Powered-Lift Regs, Mars Ingenuity, AMA 1st CBO

Also: Snoopy Hitches a Ride, H3 Dynamics, Drone Pilot Textbook, ‘Airborne-NextGen!'

The FAA has published a draft regarding an update to Air Carrier definitions that would add all powered-lift to existing definitions. The draft says that the rule is an "important step in the FAA's integration of new entrant aircraft in the National Airspace System”, paving the way for the expected wave of eVTOL aircraft on the way. Compared to some of the other flights this past year, Flight 34 might not stand out. Even shorter than Ingenuity’s first flight, Tuesday’s successful 18-second flight simply popped up to a little over 16 feet, hovered
