Class Action Against Virgin Galactic to Continue

Judge Dismisses Majority of Claims but Allows Case to Move Forward

A US judge has given the go-ahead for Kusnier v. Virgin Galactic to continue. The case is a proposed class action lawsuit asserting that founder Richard Branson concealed problems in the Unity development program whilst selling overpriced stock to new investors. Most of the claims in the lawsuit were dismissed by District Judge Allyne Ross, and shareholders would have to prove that Virgin and Branson actually defrauded them into paying too much for a stock that has continued to fall since its early 2021 peak.

Rollie Van Dorn completed the first 25 hours in the completed Bearhawk 5, comparing it to previous entries in the company lineup like the smaller, 2-seat Patrol. The 6-seater is reportedly a total sweetheart, he said. “When maneuvering, the larger Model 5 feels the same as the Patrol. Ailerons actually feel lighter. Federal Air Marshals Pulled from Regular Duty for Border Assistance

Coverage for “High Risk” Flights at Lowest Levels Since 9-11

An unnerving piece of news from The Air Marshal National Council has shown that coverage for American flights is at an all-time low, with FAMs pulled off regular flight duty to fulfill outside tasks. The Council requested that the TSA stop deploying FAMs to the border to plug personnel gaps from other shorthanded law enforcement bodies in the area. The use of Air Marshals outside of their regular airborne duties has left the traveling public endangered by a level of coverage unseen since the pre-9/11 era.

ANN's Daily Aero-Term (11.12.22): Minimum Vectoring Altitude (MVA)

Minimum Vectoring Altitude (MVA) The lowest MSL altitude at which an IFR aircraft will be vectored by a radar controller, except as otherwise authorized for radar approaches, departures, and missed approaches. The altitude meets IFR obstacle clearance criteria. It may be lower than the published MEA along an airway or J-route segment.
