NASA and Boeing Worked Through Several Steps To Troubleshoot The Incorrect Valve Indications

NASA and Boeing are standing down from the Wednesday, Aug. 4, launch attempt of the agency’s Orbital Flight Test-2 to the International Space Station as mission teams continue to examine the cause of the unexpected valve position indications on the CST-100 Starliner propulsion system. Early in the launch countdown for the Aug. 3 attempt, mission teams detected indications that not all valves were in the proper configuration needed for launch. Mission teams decided to halt the countdown to further analyze the issue.

A Singular Honor Undertaken by Storied C-47

This month, the Commemorative Air Force’s D-Day C-47 'That’s All, Brother' was selected to carry two important flags into Oshkosh, Wisconsin for EAA AirVenture. 'Two Flags' is a group that selected notable aircraft and notable aircrew to transport two flags, one U.S. Flag and one Wisconsin Flag aboard to bring additional interest to aviation and honor Wisconsin Veterans. The flags have been in circulation for several years and have flown aboard DC-3s to B-52s to a U-2 in which they went up to 70,000 feet.

Alice's First Flight Will Happen Later This Year

DHL Express and Eviationhave announced that that DHL is the first to order 12 fully electric Alice eCargo planes from Eviation. With this engagement DHL aims to set up an electric Express network and take a step into a sustainable aviation future. Eviation expects to deliver the Alice electric aircraft to DHL Express in 2024. "We firmly believe in a future with zero-emission logistics," says John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express.

Huntington Beach PD Buys Three MD 530F Helicopters

HBPD Has Owned And Operated MD Helicopters For More Than 40 Years

The Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD) signed a purchase agreement for three MD 530F helicopters, with MD Helicopters, in a law enforcement configuration. The purchase agreement was signed during a special ceremony attended by Alan Carr, sole director of MDHI’s board of directors. The department has owned and operated MD helicopters for more than 40 years.

ALPA: South Central Florida Airspace and Procedures Changing

Optimizes Airspace And Modifies 76 Procedures Including 38 SIDs and 31 STARs

Starting August 12, the FAA will implement the second phase of the South Central Florida metroplex airspace and procedures redesign, which optimizes airspace and modifies 76 procedures including 38 standard instrument departures (SIDs) and 31 standard terminal arrivals (STARs). The redesign improves traffic flow for Orlando International Airport (MCO), Tampa International (TPA), Palm Beach International (PBI), Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International (FLL), and Miami International (MIA) as well as air traffic control facilities (ATC) that manage airspace servicing the southeast United States, Caribbean, and Atlantic Oceanic regions.

Soon owners and operators of the iconic Beechcraft King Air B300 series will have the option of equipping their aircraft with a McCauley Blackmac Series 105-inch diameter propeller with four aluminum swept blades. NTSB Prelim: Myron Oleson T-51D Mustang

Local Flight Was To Perform Fuel Flow And Fuel Indicator Checks On The Newly Built Airplane

On July 6, 2021, about 1445 central daylight time, a Titan T-51 homebuilt experimental airplane, N15180, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Ashtabula, Ohio. The pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The intent of the local flight was to perform fuel flow and fuel indicator checks on the newly built airplane. After takeoff, while climbing through 200 ft agl, the engine lost power.
