Unofor Claims Contract Violated When Bombardier Sold The Dash 8 Program

More than 700 De Havilland workers at the Downsview plant remain on strike after the continued negotiations with the company failed to resolve the dispute. "Union members at the Downsview plant have always clocked in together, worked together, bargained together, and, when necessary, gone on strike together," said Jerry Dias, Unifor National President who started his career at the plant. "This situation was caused by Bombardier when they committed to not sell the Dash 8 program then proceeded to do just that."

MH-60 Coast Guard Helo Rescues Man In Life Raft

A Navy P-8A Poseidon In The Vicinity Of The Vessel Provided An Assist

The Coast Guard rescued a man in an emergency life raft Saturday offshore of Grays Harbor. At 11:39 a.m., Friday, watchstanders at the 13th Coast Guard District Command Center received an emergency position indicating radio beacon activation alert for the fishing vessel Ruby Lily approximately 132 miles from Grays Harbor. Watchstanders launched crews from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento and the Coast Guard Cutter Alert to respond. A U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon in the vicinity of the vessel self diverted to respond to the scene and reported one person aboard the life raft.

NTSB Prelim: PZL Mielec M18

The Left Wing Had Separated And Was Located About 120 Ft Northeast Of The Main Wreckage

On July 12, 2021, about 0940 central daylight time, a PZL Mielec M-18A “Dromader” airplane, N9310R, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Seiling, Oklahoma. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 aerial application flight. The airplane impacted a pasture about 1/2-mile north of the field being worked. The main wreckage consisted of the fuselage, engine, right wing, and empennage. The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for various restricted category helicopters, originally manufactured by Bell Textron Inc. (Bell). This AD was prompted by multiple events involving failure of the tail boom attach structure including the bolts. This AD requires revising the existing Rotorcraft Flight Manual (RFM) for your helicopter to incorporate preflight checks; removing paint and sealant, and cleaning; repetitive inspections of structural components that attach the tail boom to the fuselage; and depending on the outcome of the inspections, repairing or replacing components, or re-bonding the structure.
