South-Central Florida Metroplex Initiative Will Optimize Aircraft Arrival And Departure Procedures

On Aug. 12, the FAA went live with the second phase of new air traffic routes and procedures that improve the safety and efficiency of airspace in South-Central Florida. AD: Airbus Canada Limited Partnership

AD 2021-17-07 Requires Inspecting For Damage Of The Left And Right MF Fuel Line Assemblies

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11 airplanes. This AD was prompted by the potential for the flexible hose assembly of the fuel motive flow (MF), installed between the pylon and wing, to be installed twisted in the shroud, which can restrict the flow of fuel for the MF and cause fuel imbalance and damage to the shroud assembly. This AD requires inspecting for damage of the left and right MF fuel line assemblies (including the flexible-hose and shroud assemblies), and replacing damaged parts, as specified in a Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) AD, which is incorporated by refe

Aero-News: Quote of the Day (08.15.21)

“ALPA believes that vaccinations are essential to the world's recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic but that any vaccination requirements are an issue that must be bargained and ultimately agreed to. The government must consult with all stakeholders, including directly with the unions representing the affected workers as any steps toward vaccination requirements are taken.” Source: Capt. Tim Perry, president of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l Canada (ALPA Canada), commenting on the Transport Canada decision to mandate vaccines for all federal employees, workers in federally regulated industries (such as pilots, air traffic controllers, mechanics, dispatchers, etc.).
