Airbus Foresees Demand For 39,000 New Passenger & Freighter Aircraft By 2040

In the next 20 years, Airbus forecasts demand for air transport to progressively shift from fleet growth to the accelerated retirement of older, less fuel-efficient aircraft, resulting in a need for some 39,000 new-build passenger and freighter aircraft, 15,250 of these for replacement. As a consequence, by 2040 the vast majority of commercial aircraft in operation will be of the latest generation, up from some 13% today, considerably improving the CO2 efficiency of the world’s commercial aircraft fleets. The economic benefits of aviation extend beyond the sector, contributing around 4% to annual global GDP and sustaining some 90 million jobs worldwide.

The NTSB has successfully completed the recovery of TransAir flight 810 this past week… They retrieved  the remains of the Boeing 737-200 that ditched after the flight crew reported anomalies in both engines shortly after takeoff from Honolulu on July 2, 2021. The only occupants of the aircraft, the two pilots, survived. After the ditching, the majority of the plane’s wreckage came to rest about 400 feet deep. Red Tail Squadron Has Already Started The Process Of Relocating The Aircraft For Repair

As previously reported, the Commemorative Air Force’s P-51 Mustang Tuskegee Airmen had a runway excursion at Tallahassee International Airport on Thursday, November 4, in the afternoon around 2 p.m. Only the pilot was onboard, and no injuries were reported. The incident caused some damage to the left main landing gear, the left wing, and the propeller. The Red Tail Squadron already started the process of relocating the aircraft for repairs. They anticipate the Mustang will be back in the air by April. In the meantime; the RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit will continue on with their tour.

Team Wins Navy's Competition Excellence Acquisition Team Of The Year Award

MD Helicopters has reported that Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Prescott Campus student Brandon Hutchins was selected as the 2021 recipient of the MD 500 Transition Training Scholarship valued at approximately $12,000. The MD 500E Transition Training Scholarship was developed to support the next generation of rotorcraft pilots. Over the scholarship’s 10-year history, MD Helicopters has awarded more than two-hundred thousand dollars in training opportunities to 12 students.

A Coast Guard Station St. Petersburg boat crew rescued a pilot from a small aircraft crash in the water three miles south of MacDill Air Force Base, Friday. The 29-foot Response Boat-Small boat crew transferred the pilot to EMS without medical concerns. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg were notified at 6:30 p.m. by Pinellas Fire and Rescue and diverted the boat crew from training, who recovered the pilot from the water. The Cherokee 180 plane is submerged and the owner will be working with commercial salvage for recovery. A hazard to navigation notice to mariners is being broadcasted on VHF radio channel 16.
