Barnstorming: April 1st, 2020 -- Seeking The Lighter Side In All This Insanity

The Annual April 1st Edition Is Nearly Here!

I don't have to tell you that the current circumstances we find ourselves in are anything but amusing… But through the toughest of times, I found a sense of humor to be quite the survival tool. One of the questions we had last week, was whether or not it was both worthwhile, as well as proper, to conduct this year's Annual April 1 edition. Over the course of 23 years, we've only skipped the April 1 edition once. That was a couple of years ago in the few days that had passed since my Father died. And while we expressed the fact (then) that we really didn't have much us of a sense of humor at the time, and really couldn't find much to laugh at, I still remember that while speaking at my Father's se

NATA Continues Fight For Relief for All Aviation Businesses

Says CARES Act Falls Short In Providing Relief For Thousands Of Small Aviation Businesses

The U.S. Congress has passed, and President Trump has signed, the CARES Act providing financial relief for many individuals and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the Act provides some assistance for small businesses in the form of loans and payroll relief, and provides relief for the airlines and airports with commercial airline service (with only $100 million to general aviation airports), it falls short in helping the immediate crisis facing thousands of aviation businesses that provide critical services to our infrastructure, according to NATA.
