Airborne 12.05.16: AutoGyro Certified, Police Seize Drone, GoPro Job Cuts

The expression, “breaking news,” seems to be highly overused nowadays, but to hear that an autogyro has just received FAA type certification is truly - breaking news. Even better, this aircraft is eligible for operation by sport pilots. The original design of the Calidus dates back to 2009. Since then it has been certified in numerous countries around the world. The company claims cruise performance to be in the range of 95 to 110 miles per hour with a takeoff distance ranging from 30-300 feet.
