No matter which holiday you're celebrating these days (and believe me, we're covered back here at ANN... with a diverse variety of Christian, Jewish and Buddhists among our families, these days). The hard-working and long-suffering gnomes that publish ANN, Airborne, and Aero-TV will finally get to take a short holiday break this week [we gnomes thank you --ed]. ANN's normal DAILY news schedule will be on a somewhat reduced Holiday schedule, through the 2nd of January.

There are some things that are very difficult to describe. The night airshow which has capped off the last two years at AirVenture at Oshkosh is one of those things that almost has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Fortunately, Aero-TV was there to capture the airshow on the final day of this year's EAA gathering. So what were some of the reactions we got from people who saw the show?

A widely shared and watched clip of an F-35B's SNAFU has resulted in a temporary halt to flight operations as the F-35 Joint Program Office investigates the mishap. The crash was an odd one, catching the attention of many as yet another apparent misstep in a highly expensive fighter program. The aircraft, landing at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Texas, ended its flight with a slow, seemingly languid crash that caught the attention of legions of untrained civilian eyes. 

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus SAS Model A350-941 and -1041 airplanes. This AD is prompted by a report that during flight and fatigue testing it was detected that some fasteners installed in the center wing box (CWB) rotated inside their fastener holes. This AD requires replacing affected fasteners and applying additional head nut cap protection at the front and rear spars in the CWB, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2022-09-15, which applied to all Dassault Aviation Model FALCON 2000 and FALCON 2000EX airplanes. AD 2022-09-15 required relocating affected servo-valves and revising the existing airplane flight manual (AFM) to provide temporary information necessary to operate airplanes fitted with at least one affected brake servo-valve. AD 2022-09-15 also limited or prohibited the installation of affected brake servo-valves.

U.S. Navy final approach equipment consisting of precision tracking radar coupled to a computer data link to provide continuous information to the aircraft, monitoring capability to the pilot, and a backup approach system.

The International Cessna 120-140 Association is an all volunteer group of approximately 1,000 owners, pilots and others who share a common interest in restoring, maintaining and flying the Models 120, 140 and 140A aircraft manufactured by the Cessna Aircraft Company in 1946-1951. Though over sixty years old, these aircraft provide a combination of performance, ease and economy of operation and maintenance unmatched by many currently produced aircraft.

<strong>&ldquo;The F-35 Joint Program Office has issued a Time Compliance Technical Directive (TCTD) to restrict some aircraft, which have been evaluated to be of higher risk, from flight operations while the investigation into the mishap on December 15 continues and until procedures can be developed for their return to flight,&rdquo; the JPO said. &ldquo;The affected aircraft have been identified, and the JPO will work with services and partners to ensure compliance with the TCTD.&rdquo;</strong>

Another NTSB investigation has covered a recent &ldquo;D&rsquo;oh!&rdquo; moment at a Houston airshow, where an MS-500 (similar to a Storch)&nbsp;pilot forgot to complete his shutdown checklist after an unsuccessful attempt to start the engine.&nbsp;
