of the Pentagon's September 11 memorial. As is befitting its solemn
subject, Baker's report stands apart from the usual US armed forces

First Known Reliance On Night Goggles, Reflective Cones
A C-17 Globemaster III crew from McChord Air Force Base, WA made
aviation history Thursday, performing the first known after-dark
landing on the Pegasus Ice Runway near McMurdo Station in
Antarctica, using night vision goggles.
A Defense Department task force has recommended the Air Force
Space Command be re-designated as Air Force Strategic Command and
be home to the service's nuclear mission.
The combined efforts of the five customer Air Forces and the
industrial Flight Test program have seen the Eurofighter Typhoon
multi-/swing-role combat aircraft surpass the 50,000 flight hours
milestone.
