The U.S. military has responded to Chinese requests, delivering
critically needed relief supplies to the earthquake-stricken
Sichuan province. More than 32,000 people are known dead from the
7.9 quake that hit May 12.
US Representative Todd Tiahrt has represented the 4th District
of Kansas in Congress since 1995. He's slamming the decision by the
US Air Force to award the KC-X contract for the next-generation
aerial refueling tanker to Northrop Grumman and EADS. His position
is popular with Boeing employees and US unions, but is being
characterized as a misinformation campaign by Airbus officials.
A grand opening ceremony was held for the new EA-18G Growler
Support Center on Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island, May 13.
Construction began on the facility in November in preparation for
the Navy's aircraft transition from the EA-6B Prowler to the
EA-18G.
