Deployed USAF Wing To Deactivate

Will Reorganize As One Air Expeditionary Group

The 451st Air Expeditionary Wing at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, is scheduled to deactivate in January 2014 as part of the bigger Afghanistan retrograde efforts. The 451st AEW is currently comprised of four groups, but will reorganize as one air expeditionary group, remaining at KAF, and reporting to the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.

USAF Awards $16 Million Contract For Miniaturized Airborne GPS Receivers

Deal With Raytheon Includes New Production And Sustainment Of Existing Systems

The U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center has awarded a contract valued at $15.8 million to Raytheon Company for its MAGR 2000-S24 miniaturized airborne GPS receiver. The order, which includes new production and sustainment of existing systems, is the first under an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract awarded to the company in September 2013.

B-25 Group Settles Investigation Into Removal Of Airplane Parts From Alaska

Had Taken Parts From Federal Land In July Of 2008

The federal government has reached a settlement with Georgia-based aircraft restoration company the B-25 Group which removed parts from the wreckage of an F-82 Twin Mustang that went down outside Fairbanks, AK in 1950.
