Aircraft Evaluated In Higher Wind Conditions Aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt

The Navy concluded another round of carrier testing Nov. 19 to further demonstrate and evaluate the X-47B unmanned air system integration within the aircraft carrier environment. Tests aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) included deck handling, carrier approaches and landings in off-nominal wind conditions, digitized ship systems interfaces, and concept of operations development.

Maj. Troy Gilbert Lost During Combat Operations In Iraq In 2006

Additional remains of an Air Force pilot who died in combat in 2006 in Iraq have been found, service officials announced Nov. 19. Maj. Troy Gilbert was killed when his F-16C Fighting Falcon crashed 20 miles northwest of Baghdad, Iraq Nov. 27, 2006, while engaged in support of coalition ground combat operations.

Will Spend Three Years In Federal Prison, Three Years On Supervised Release

A former helicopter pilot stationed at Fort Bragg, NC was sentenced to three years in federal prison last Friday for his part in the theft of $1.3 million of military equipment while deployed overseas.
