First F-35 Center Fuselage For Royal Australian Air Force In Low-Rate Initial Production

The Royal Australian Air Force's Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Geoff Brown, met Northrop Grumman Corporation executives during a visit to the company's F-35 Lightning II production facility in Palmdale, CA, on Nov. 2. As part of his visit, Brown received an update on the F-35 program and observed the first F-35 center fuselage being manufactured at Palmdale for the Royal Australian Air Force.

Generators, Other Supplies Transported Aboard C-27J Aircraft From OH, MS, And MD To NY

A C-27J Spartan aircraft crew from the 175th Wing, Maryland Air National Guard, flew power generators and other equipment to New York in support of Hurricane Sandy relief efforts Saturday, Nov. 3. ANG crews from Ohio, Mississippi and Maryland flew the first-ever C-27J domestic operations missions transporting power generation equipment and HUMVEEs to Stewart Air National Guard Base, NY, to help provide needed power resources in the affected area.

B-52 Sheds Flaps On Takeoff Thursday

Aircraft Had Recently Come Out Of Maintenance

A B-52 bomber being test-flown on Thursday after undergoing maintenance shed flaps from both of its wings on takeoff, according to officials at Tinker Air Force Base in OK. It was not specified if it was the inboard, outboard, or all of the flaps that separated from the airplane.
