Congress and the Pentagon are at odds over both the scope, and
the very continuation of, production of the Lockheed Martin F-22
Raptor. At a cost of $140 million each, the funding of the F-22 is
rapidly becoming a political football.
CFM International's CFM56-7B27A/3 engine model has been jointly
certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration and the
European Aviation Safety Agency for the US Navy's P-8A Poseidon,
