L-3 Link Simulation & Training has been awarded a one year
$14.4 million contract option from the U.S. Air Force to provide
continued support of the service's E-3 Contractor Training and
Simulation Services (CTSS) program.
Helicopter Sims Will Increase Training Time, Proficiency
Boeing has delivered two new Apache Longbow Crew Trainers (LCT)
to the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas, and the Army declared the
helicopter simulators "ready for training" on September. 4th. These
LCTs reflect the Apache Extended Block II configuration, ensuring
concurrency with the latest AH-64D capabilities.
Forecast International Projects Over 2,000 Will Be Produced In
The Next Decade
Forecast International's new "The Market for Light Military
Rotorcraft" study projects a total of 2,026 rotorcraft in this
market segment will be produced during the 2009-2018 time
period. The value of this production is estimated at $20.8
billion in constant 2009 U.S. dollars.
Lockheed Martin Disputes Report, Sees "No Substantial
Delay"
Revised Pentagon estimates are that the F-35 Lightning Joint
Strike Fighter will cost billions more than originally anticipated,
and require more time to build, though prime contractor Lockheed
Martin disputes those findings.
