CEO Of ADR Succeeds Robert Stangarone

The Wichita Aero Club announced Tuesday that Chairman Robert Stangarone will hand over the reins of the club to Patrick Tuttle in January, 2012. Tuttle previously served as club treasurer. Tuttle is chief executive officer of ADR, Inc. Stangarone serves as vice president of Corporate Communications for Cessna Aircraft Company.

Congress Goes Home Without Addressing FAA Extension

Without A Special Session, Agency Will Remain Partially Closed Until After Labor Day

The U.S. House of Representatives went into recess Aug. 1 without waiting for the Senate to reach a conclusion on authorizing funds for the FAA, which has been partially shut down since July 22. This means that for the nearly 4,000 employees who have been furloughed without pay, the earliest they could return to work would be the first part of September.

FAA Revamps Cockpit Program For Air Traffic Controllers

The FAA announced that, effective Monday, air traffic controllers will once again be able to ride in aircraft cockpits with commercial pilots as part of a voluntary education program. The Flight Deck Training program is designed to improve safety by giving air traffic controllers a greater understanding of the pilots’ experience and workload in the cockpit.
