Jeppesen says it's recently started adding lightning weather maps to its lineup of weather products. The lightning data is provided by the US Precision Lightning Network (USPLN), a partnership between TOA Systems and Weather Decisions Technologies (WDT). TOA Systems designed, built and installed the lightning sensors, and WDT distributes the data and provides applications that display the data.

Work On $4.6 Million Contract Starts Right Away

Raytheon Company has been awarded a $4.6 million contract to supply turnkey installation of a Raytheon airport surveillance radar (ASR) for Maiquetia International Airport in Caracas, Venezuela. Consorcio Hardwell Computer, Inc. of Caracas is the prime contractor for the project. Maiquetia Simon Bolivar International Airport, known as the "doorway to South America," is the primary airport for the Caracas region.
