Cirrus Design is always looking for ways to improve customer
access to its planes, and to enhance training... and the company
announced a novel program Tuesday at Lakeland 2008 that should
address both areas nicely.
EFD1000 To Be Standard In Advanced IFR XL-2 Trainer
Aspen Avionics announced Tuesday it has signed an OEM contract
with Liberty Aerospace to provide its Evolution Pro Primary Flight
Display (PFD) as standard equipment in the Advanced IFR version of
the Liberty XL-2 aircraft.
Improvements To Benefit Students, Experienced Pilots Alike
Though somewhat overshadowed by Garmin's BIG news regarding
synthetic vision, that wasn't the only news the company had to
share in the moments leading up to Lakeland 2008. The avionics
manufacturer also announced Monday enhancements to the GMX 200
multi-function display (MFD,) giving pilots the benefit of Garmin
FliteCharts and Garmin SafeTaxi.
On the heels of a February 15, 2008 Service Letter 72 to all
operators of Parker/Airborne dry vacuum pumps on piston engines,
mandating immediate removal of these units, Airwolf Filter Corp
advises its wet-vacuum pumps are available immediately for
operation of gyros (Series 200) and de-icing boots (Series
Diamond Aircraft Industries has JUST introduced the new Garmin
Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) for new DA40 Diamond Stars.
Garmin’s SVT presents a 3D depiction of terrain, obstacles
and traffic on the G1000’s primary flightdisplay (PFD) so
that the avionics panel replicates what pilots would see outside
the cockpit on a clear day.
Entegra FMS900W Designed To Reduce Workload In Single-Pilot
Avidyne Corporation has some BIG news to share at Lakeland 2008.
Early Tuesday, the avionics manufacturer announced the introduction
of their new Entegra FMS900W WAAS-enabled GPS/NAV/COM Flight
Management System (FMS). Designed to reduce workload for
single-pilot IFR operations, the FMS900W provides fully-redundant,
state-of-the art VHF and TSO C146b Gamma 3-compliant turbine-class
FMS capability for all general aviation aircraft.
