Oxford Aviation In Maine Ordered To Pay Damages Following Aircraft Accident
A federal court has awarded $430,000 to Joseph Skilken and Co. following an accident involving a Cessna 441 after work on the airplane was performed by Oxford aviation of Maine. A portion of the tail of the airplane separated from the aircraft in flight, forcing an emergency landing in June that many said should have resulted in the fatal injury of Steven Skilken and five other people on board the aircraft.

The Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE) has released a series of online resources designed to help pilots avoid Loss-Of-Control (LOC) accidents, which have been identified by the General Aviation Joint Steering Committee (GAJSC) the predominant accident category; consequently, loss of control has become a special emphasis area for the FAA.
The FAA has published in the Federal Register the criteria, application procedures, and schedule to be applied by the Secretary of Transportation in designating or redesignating, and funding capital development for up to 15 current joint use or former military airports seeking first time designation or redesignation to participate in the Military Airport Program (MAP).
