Santa Arrives - In A WWII Trainer

Only In Palm Springs

Rudolph and Prancer were nowhere to be seen, as nearly 200 children impatiently awaited the arrival of their favorite man in red at the Palm Spring Air Museum Saturday. They were rewarded first with the noise of a 1943 Boeing Stearman engine, and then with Santa, himself, dressed in his traditional regalia, as the biplane taxied to the Air Museum (where the temperature reached the low 70s).

Holiday Tragedy: Family of Four Lost in SC Crash

A Cessna 340A crashed in the Stono River, SC, Friday, taking the lives of four, including, its owner, New Bern, NC, orthopedic surgeon Ray B. Armistead. Armistead's 54-year-old wife, Patricia, and their two daughters, Kristin and 27-year-old Lauren Armistead also were killed in the crash, Charleston County Coroner Rae Wooten said Saturday.
