Piper, FIT Form Aviation Career Alliance

Florida Institute Of Technology Launch Customer For The Program

Piper Aircraft and the Florida Institute of Technology have launched a Piper Aviation Career Alliance to educate and provide enhanced vocational opportunities for aviation program graduates as well as graduates from other programs offered through the school. The five-year agreement includes a fleet of new Piper training aircraft for the institute and enhanced career opportunities for its students and graduates.

NTSB Releases Factual Report In 2011 American AA-1A Fatal Accident

Flight Was In Introductory Lesson For A New Student

The NTSB has released a factual report for an an accident which occurred in California involving an American Aviation AA-1A under VFR conditions. The instructor held a Commercial certificate with an instrument rating ... at just 18 years of age. A witness to the accident said she saw the airplane performing turns that bordered on "aerobatic" before going down. There was a post-impact fire, and neither occupant of the aircraft survived the accident.

TSA Workers Ratify First Union Contract

Union Says Deal Will Mean 'Better Working Conditions, Safer Workplaces'

Workers at the Transportation Security Administration have voted to ratify the first-ever collective bargaining agreement at the agency. The agreement between the American Federation of Government Employees and TSA was ratified with a vote of 17,326-1,774. “AFGE is proud that TSA workers finally have a union contract that will improve their working lives and bring stability to the workforce,” said AFGE National President J. David Cox.
