In what the agency termed an effort to streamline the
application process for air traffic controllers, the Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) announced Friday it has created
consolidated screening and testing centers to provide "one stop
shopping" for prospective new employees.
The Lockheed F-22 "Raptor," one of the world's most advanced
military jets, will return and fly during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
2008, "The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration," this year at
Oshkosh, WI.
The South Bay Soaring Society (SBSS) is a non-profit radio
controlled glider club based in San Jose, CA. They have flying
sites in San Jose, Santa Clara, Fremont and Davenport. The club is
involved in slope soaring, thermal duration, aero-tow, F3B, scale
soaring.
A movable control surface, as an aileron or rudder, having an added
physical extension or weights forward of the hinge-point to reduce
forces on a joystick or yoke.
"The FAA put out a job announcement just last month
that attracted 3,000 applicants in 15 days. The overwhelming
response for new air traffic controller positions highlights the
enthusiasm, passion and determination of our applicants. They are
ready to work and we want to get them processed and in training as
soon as possible."
