"The airport was full to capacity, so there was no room. Basically everybody was lying on the floor, the cafeteria lines were from one end all the way to the next side of the airport; it was just chaotic. The tourists had no money for hotel rooms and they had nowhere to go. It was a mess." Source: An unidentified passenger who was stranded at Nassau International Airport over the holiday weekend. As many as 6,000 passengers saw their travel plans change when a radar system broke down on Christmas Eve, cancelling many outbound flights and forcing inbound planes to either fly an extended "procedural approach" or divert to Miami.
